The Boomtel Story

Here is the Boomtel story:

In October 2005, Nadahl Shocair (the founder of Boomtel) initiated the idea and incubated a talented R&D team within DeTeWe in the UK with the objective of developing a new telecommunications network that would allow businesses and professional people across the world to enjoy free calls, from and to anywhere, using their standard business telephones (office, mobiles & home office), pushing these tangible savings straight to their collective bottom-lines.

To achieve this plan, we undertook 3 main initiatives.

1. We built a resilient internet SIP based telephone network
2. We created the world’s first Internet Telephone Numbering System which is the bridge between standard telephone devices and the internet.
3. We gave Internet Telephone Numbers the memorable prefix of ‘100’™

Whenever someone now sees a ‘100’ before a telephone number, whether on a business card, website, brochure or an email address line; it is recognized as an Internet Telephone Number that can be called for free between network subscribers.

In December 2006, this R&D activity was carved out from the 120 year old legacy company DeTeWe UK and in January 2007, Boomtel Networks was born.

During 2007, we continued with our 3 main initiative developments, moved our R&D from the UK to Berlin; we optimized the network, built an online User Portal, an Internet Telephone Number generator, online Number Manager and started the process of expanding the network's features to deliver more enhanced services during 2008, such as

• Call Recording
• Messaging on-Hold
• Interactive Voice Response
• Voice Mail sent to your Email
• Business Conference Rooms
• Office Functions (Hold, Transfer, 3-way Conference, etc.)
• Integrating your telephone receptionist to your website
